Wheeeeeeeerandom.
Jun. 12th, 2006 02:26 amIt's late. I'm awake. I have a naked bishie in my sketchbook! Well... okay, he's not actually naked. I'm trying to draw Aidan, and as previously mentioned I'm having trouble with his costume. So I just have the figure sketch, with the muscles and shapes and the pose and all. So it looks naked-ish.
I'm poking about historical costume sites, and I actually like some of the late Renaissance stuff. But... the pants are just wrong. With the knicker-thingies, and the poofy trousers that just go to the knee, and the hose and... well... just no, not Aidan at all. No poofy anything should be involved, except maybe a poofy lace cravat or something. But some of the jackets, and waistcoats and things are kinda sorta close to what I'm thinking of.
The problem is what I'm thinking of isn't concrete. I can't say "the jacket's like this and the shirt is like this," because I don't know what they look like at all yet. It's an overall impression. I'll know it when I see it, the style, the sort of suave foppy "I know I'm beautiful" thing, but it's not silly, it's elegant, and when I see something that looks like that, I'll know I'm good. What does a fashion conscious bishie angel fantasy demon summoner wear, anyhow?
Maybe I should give him long hair. I'm sure at some point in his life he grew it out. But then again maybe not. He wouldn't look like Aidan with long hair. Hrm.......
