Also, my room is infested with largish spiders. Happily I'm only bothered by spiders if they get on me, or really startle me, but it's a bit weird to see a trio of spiders casually meandering across the ceiling overhead.

I generally take'em outside too. Mind you, I'm in Australia, which has the most poisonous species in the world of anything except scorpions...

Personally, I've always wondered why we couldn't have preying mantids wander in the house and keep the bug population down instead - although people in some climes are lucky enough to get geckoes. They're amusing to watch, especially the ones who have figured out what lights do to bugs (went to a restaurant in Darwin once where there were an average of three or four geckoes stationed around each outside light, just waiting...)
