Redefining things!

bladesparkDon't you love it when people seem to need to redefine words? Like that "Isn't it Ironic" song with virtually no irony in it anywhere? Well, somebody who seems to be thinking of bidding on my custom suit auction has his own definition of arrogance. That's the only explanation I can come up with to explain this little exchange.
Him: "I need a custom bear suit (mascotstyle, not realistic). I am 6'4 tall and I freely admit that I cannot draw. If I give you my sizes, can you design it and give me a quote for it?

Me: "It's definitely possible for me to do so!
Do note, however, that this auction IS around my usual price range,as far as the reserve and buy now price, so don't expect to get a cheaper deal by getting a quote this way rather than just bidding, since such a designed and custom built suit is exactly what the auction is for."
Him: "I didn't ask if I can get it cheaper. I undestand that the time an effort of quality costume is a premium.

I then responded: "My apologies if I appeared arrogant. I can't figure out exactly what is arrogant there. I stated that my prices are in the same range as the price of this auction. This is a statement of fact. And as it is 100% against ebay's terms andpolicies to conclude a deal outside of their auction system, there's nothing else I could say in response to your question.
If you're intersted bid, if you're not, don't, and if you can't deal with my supposed arrogance, I suppose you'll have to look elsewhere. "
*chuckles* Good thing I'm not all that desperate for business. But dang! That was just... totally out of the blue. Arrogant? Because I wanted to make sure he knew that he wasn't going to get a cheaper suit? WTF?
(P.S. Oh e-bay guru, DOES that sound like an attempt to conclude a deal outside of e-bay? Because this actually has me in the mood to smack this guy down a bit more, and if you think it is, well... I can most certainly report it as such.)
