bladesparkI happened to spot an auction for a rather large set of Reaper Master Series paints on e-bay. I approve of Reaper, they do good stuff, and they have good community involvement, and the starter set of Pro Paints I got was from them, but the Master Series paints are supposed to be truly awesome, or so say all the really good painters. So, as this set was really comparatively cheap, I went ahead a bought it. *grin* It arrived today. So now I have six shades of red including violet red, clear red, blood red, clotted red, bloodstain red and carnage red. (I sense a theme there.) Plus equivalent ammounts of the other colors, including nine assorted skin tone paints. Wheeee!
In other news, I saw Superman Returns today, and I must say it was very good. A touch too predictable in one or two places, and there were a few "yeah, right" moments (I swear, has ANYBODY who writes movie scripts ever actually raised a kid?) But anyhow, overall it gets thumbs up from me. Very enjoyable, and not only were the special effects shiny, but /most/ of the physics behaved like they should. (This being Superman, he gets to break all kinds of rules, and JJ griped about some plane-related stuff, but in general things followed actual physical laws.) If you get a chance, I'd say go see it.
Let's see... missed seeing Kira today (Aidan is all mopey about it.) But we turned in our applications for the apartment, and things are hopeful. *crosses fingers.* So all in all it was a very good day.

Date: 2006-06-30 05:15 pm (UTC)Yeah upon first seeing they were making a Superman movie I was rather skeptical. But when I saw the previews I was pretty excited. It looks visually stunning, and it's definitely a plus having the X-Men director on board. Well, 'former' director. ;) I've been debating going to Superman Returns but I think I would probably enjoy it a lot. And, ironically, X-Men 3 ought to be on my agenda. ;)
