But I'm going ahead anyhow.

Montery Mills rust fox fur. I'm ordering it! A whole 300 yards. Mostly to resell, obviously. I'm doing a deal where you can get in now at the same cost as me, $10 a yard, if you're willing to get a whole 15 yard roll. And once it's ordered I start selling at profit, for probably $30 a yard. *crosses fingers* Let's hope it works out!

I was just about to IM you about a furbid auction I found just moments ago from someone who apparently misordered. I guess that is a nevermind. :)

Thanks for the thought.

Yup. With any luck, there will come a solution to this problem that many suiters face. Ill let you know of any "fox colored" fur that I might find. I wonder why MM is discontinuing such a popular color.

Because it's only popular with fursuiters, not with bearmakers or fashion designers, and fursuit making is too small of a demographic to affect sales significantly. We were the only people buying it, so it was moving too slowly.

I *still* say "furbid" sounds like a medical condition.

"My God, doctor... the wound's gone furbid."

"Yes, there's nothing we can do for him now..."

Well, if you use it as much as you do and you have the storage space and the cash, it seems to be a decently sound investment.

Yeah, an investment is pretty much what it is. *nods* Hopefully one that will give a good return.

My first thought was, "What would I do with even one yard of fur?" I'm not a furrie. I don't have the urge to wear a tail. I don't want to buy stuff, but even if I did...

But then I remembered. Oh, yeah. YOU use that much stuff.

I'm sorry. That sounds derogatory and mocking. It wasn't meant to be. It was just the first thought in my head.

*giggles* Nah, I knew what you meant. We furries are weirdos, allright. And proud of it! And really I won't use 300 yards in my whole life, probably. *grin* But I figure I'll end up selling most of it, one way or another.

Well, for your credit, it really does make sense. Keep it for a small while, and when any other furry-makers realize (if they haven't by now) that it's out, you'll make quite a profit.

It the dangerous move anybody who wants their own business would do.

Hello, I've read this on the Fursuit group, but as I'm not 100% sure if I can order it, I've decided to answer it here. (hope you don't mind it)

I'm not from the US, but from Germany.
Would you have any idea if it's possible to ship it over here? And if it would not mean having to pay 10x more in shipping fees than the $150 for the fur itself.
Or if dividing it in.. say, 3 parcels would make it more easier?
That is, if that is not too much work :/
Thanks in advance, Hawthorn

I'm not quite sure on the shipping. I'll go see about trying to figure out how much it would cost and get back to you.

If you're willing to wait for the slow surface post (4-6 weeks dlivery time,) it looks like shipping would be around $75 or so. That's assuming I break it up into smaller boxes, as they don't have anywhere to indicate an oversized parcel on the shipping form, so I probably can't send it in one box. By airmail it would be more like $150.

Time wouldn't be a problem for me.
Hmm... would it be around $75 in total, of $75 for each of how many boxes?
Btw, my email is hrairoo at gmx dot net.

$75 total, it's giving me an estimated postage of $25 for a box 1/3 the weight of the total. This is, however, assuming I'm calculating the weight correctly. I won't be able to say for 100% certain until I get the fur.

Hm... like I've said before, if its not too much trouble to send multiple boxes, I'm in
(just awaiting payment information on my email :))
