It usually takes more than one treatment to get rid of them. A good idea is to vac the carpets....add a few cotton balls to your vac soaked with flea spray as well. This will kill the baby fleas as they hatch from the egs.
Have you 'sterilized' the bedding and clothing in a good hot laundry wash-n-dry cycle? Not sure if that will help if they're just in the carpet/house itself still, but might be worth a try.

there is a can of stuff that you can sprinkle on the carpet, that is specifically designed to kill fleas. i believe you can find it in walmarts pet care department (the cat aisle)
