Right, right. Editing to sound less pathetic. I need to stress less. It's not like suddenly nobody likes my stuff, I'm just having a lull. Happens to all artists. Halloween should pick things up nicely.

The point remains, however, that somebody who knows me well, and knows I make suits, and likes my suits a lot, decided to get a suit from somebody else because he saw the other fellow's suit in person. I really wish I could make more conventions. The advertising might well be worth the expense, even when I'm not able to sell much at the con itself.

(And yes, my friend said he wanted the suit from the other guy not because of style, price, or skill, but because he saw it in person.)

Same reason I like to comission a bunch of artists to draw my character, he might not have liked your style. ::shrugs::

I get the same thing with building website...::shrugs:: Except no one has EVER asked for a website... Though I've had loads of people say they would...

Heh. Yeah... it's a little frustrating when people say they will order something and then don't. Happens all the time.

As for style... Silver's style is a little different from mine, but not much. The guy just liked seeing it in person, and he's never seen any of my suits in person.

Nope. He just wanted to get a suit from somebody whose suit he'd seen in person, and I wasn't at Anthrocon.

As someone who's starting a fledgling "business" making clothing/costumes/jewelry/etc., I totally understand--I haven't gotten proficient enough at it to start doing things like conventions, which means I'm not getting a lot of practice because nobody ever sees the stuff. Argh.

On the other hand, when I'm buying such things, I really need to see it in person before I can spend money on it.

(In the end, I lose on both counts, I guess. :) )

On a side note, can you tell me the difference in your standard fox tail versus your large fox tail? For example size comparison. I'm thinking of picking up a tail and ears for a convention.

Ah. The larger tail isn't actually much longer, if you put them side by side they'd take up as much vertical space, but with the "S" curve in it, it has a LOT more fabric in it, and is a lot wider as well. (And costs quite a bit more.) I actually prefer the straight tails, but a lot of people like the curved look.
