Took a good long break from the fur packing, and painted some. I feel too guilty about all the time I'm losing to just waste the rest of the day, and painting a gryphon is pretty easy, really. I've done enough of 'em now. (I REALLY want the kirins and dragons to come out. I'm kinda bored with gryphons now.) This is the last gryphon commission I'll be taking for a while. I've got a modest stack of minis to paint if I get bored, and one more personal Windstone dragon repaint to do, and the gryphons just aren't bringing in enough money to be worth it. This current one sold for less than $80, and given I shelled out $40 for the unpainted statue, well...
But yesterday I totally forgot to post this! I got the cover art for Blood and Fire! The photo of it is lousy, but it's too big for the scanner, so that will have to do. You can at least get the general idea.
Pretty bishy boy.
Doesn't Aidan look great? And Flame is just about perfect too! Hee!
Now I just need to get around to editing the book, and then getting a "real" editor to take a look through it, and then finding a suitable vanity press type place that's not too horrible of a ripoff. (Yes, I'm going to publish by vanity press. Why? Because the hoops, stress, revising, and years of waiting required to publish for profit is just not something I find worth it. I'd get paid a few thousand, an ammount I could make sewing with half the work required to really get a book into shape, and that's if I managed to get it published at all. Or I can pay a couple hundred and have a nice, shiny pile of books, just how I want them, to inflict on... er, to give to friends and family.)
