Fur disaster!
Oct. 20th, 2006 09:14 pmWell, I might as well post this on my journal too, in hopes that somebody here might be able to help out.
So, about a week ago, I called the local WalMart, and asked if they had the "gray with black tips" wolf fur, and they said yes. So down I went to buy every yard they had, so I could have a stock for the next year... only to arrive and find it was white with black tips! Which fur I alreayd have about two yards of, and which I hardly ever use!
This unfortunate circumstance means I need to find another source. Just now I am aware of one company able to supply me with that kind of wolf fur, and that's I'm Stuffed Fur, which charges around $40 a yard for the stuff. WalMart charges less than $15 a yard for it. Obviously I'd prefer not to pay $40 + shipping if I can get it elsewhere cheap.
Thus, I turn to you wonderful folks. Can anybody get the WalMart wolf fur in quantity? I definitely want the gray, and would like a few yards of the brown as well. (The gray is tan base, light gray coat, black tips/guard hairs, the brown is orange-brown base, brown coat, dark chocolate tips/guard hairs. They both look like WOLF and cannot be mistaken for anything else, really.) I can pay for the fur, plus shipping, plus some for your time, gas money in driving to get it, etc. Alternately, I have Montery Mills long pile fox fur (the nice, three inch stuff you can buy from CRs Crafts,) in rust, black, or white that I could trade for it.
I'd like, if possible, 6 yards of the gray wolf and three of the brown.
Is there anybody that can hook me up?
P.S. I'm also looking for some non-WalMart wolf fur, 100% gray, dark gray or black tips, light gray base, no tan or brown, or any other color but gray and black on it anywhere. The WalMart stuff has tan at the very base, and while it's great for tails and some wolf heads, on some I need something that will still be gray, though lighter, should I shave it down! Same deal goes for that, I'll pay or trade for it. I'd like a couple of yards, maybe up to five yards if the price was good.

Date: 2006-10-21 05:30 am (UTC)Second, knowing Hancock's, if they have the good stuff, unless you hit a sale, it'll be $25 a yard. So no, not quite the whole roll! But if it's the gray kind, no brown in at all, I'd like 5 yards. If it's got brown in, I still want some but more like... 2 yards.
That sound workable to you?

Date: 2006-10-24 03:14 am (UTC)It's a medium/dark grey with black tips, super soft and fluffy, about 1.5 to 1.75 inch pile height.
It's currently 16.99/yard... you still want? if so, how much? It'll be closer to $13.99/yard on November 1st... if you want it, would you want it now? or wait until it's on sale?
