The eyes, the eyes!!
Nov. 4th, 2006 11:23 amI think I now have a lifetime supply of plastic cat eyes.
See, taxidermy eyes are $3-$10 per pair. This isn't too horrific, but it does add up. Plastic eyes meant for bears and dolls tend to be $0.10-$0.50 or so. This I like much better. I like the glass eyes, they're neat, they add a lot of character. But the plastic eyes aren't bad either, and they're much easier on my budget to order in bulk. So I went looking for some. I found bear eyes easily, and bought a few dozen, but then I found an ebay seller with plastic cat eyes. Cat eyes are much cooler than bear eyes! But I couldn't buy them by the dozen, he had packs of 50. So I bought several, in various colors. I think they'll last me a while.
I did also order a dozen or so pairs of taxidermy eyes, and a dozen or so plain, unpainted plastic blanks, which will be interesting to paint myself. Hee! But I'll be saving those mostly for the special order stuff.
