Dragonpants!

The upside of having the evening without net means I actually got off my rear and finished the dragon pants. They are spiffy! Though they came out a little larger than I'd envisioned them, they just wouldn't have looked right smaller, I don't think.

So, here they are:

They don't go quite all the way up, as they're meant to be worn with shorts. (Though you'd have to get somewhat loose shorts, really tight ones wouldn't quite work.) They're not quite decent to wear without some kind of shorts, skirt, whatever, as the top bit is just a liner that goes down inside, and not really pants material.

Anyhow, for my first actual set of false digitigrade legs, they're not half bad, I think! I might do a few small things differently next time, but overall I wouldn't change the design. And I've finally gotten the antlers for the head that goes with these drilled out, though now, of course, the screws I have aren't the right size. *sighs* But once I get more screws, which shouldn't take long, I ought to be able to get the head done in short order.

Also, wearing enourmous dragon pants around is ridiculously fun!

You know, looking at your work on these costumes, you're making it a very tempting idea to get you to do a Dexam Draconis Australis suit for me. Although I have no idea where I would wear it.

All things going well, I should be able to make it to BoardieCon 2007. The only reason why I couldn't come to BC 2006 was because by the time I figured out that I could have made it, it was too late to arrange holiday time away from work.

We'll have to see what happens next year.

Yayness! It is possible, not certain, but possible, that I and JJ shall be hosting BC 07 in Las Vegas. (Cheaper for people to fly to, more fun stuff to do there.)

Dude... those are cool. Of course, knowing me, I'd wear only the pants with just a grey shirt or something and the shorts... around one normal day. All day. Sometime in the winter, because they're probably very warm...

Hmmmmm... I'd have some made for myself, but I don't know where I'd keep them in our tiny apartment. How much, ish, would the legs cost in and of themselves?
