Windstones!
Nov. 28th, 2006 09:48 pmShiny things! It's been a while since I posted photos of the collection, so here are some. This is complete to what I've got right now, though I have a hatching empress dragon on the way, and there are two PYO dragons in progress that are not pictured here.
I love me some shinies. I should go add links to these to my wishlist page.

Here we see a broken jade oriental that's going to be repainted as Guardian. Though someday I want a mint jade! Also, a herd of minifig pegasi, unicorns, and things for Dexam that I really should paint. And I think one of those figs is my Aidan, thogh the wings aren't attached yet. Then we have a PYO ki-rin with an atrocious paint job that's going to be painted over soon. Below that is an unpainted winged wolf, the purple young dragon that's my very first repaint, which I'm going to be selling I think, an emerald coiled mother dragon with egg that's in the process of getting chip repair, and the almost but not quite finished minifig of SPark.

Here are the ten dollar dragons! Mother, whose slightly chipped claws are being repaired, and whose dark blue eye color is highly unusual, and father, who needs a good wash and a touchup on some "flea bite" paint spots, but who is otherwise in great shape. I still am so stoked about finding these two. Ten bucks for the pair, just $30 with shipping! They're worth easily twice that each. And once I get them cleaned and fixed up I'll probably be selling them.

Now we see the top shelf of my cabinet, where an emerald coiled dragon sits on the left, awaiting chip repair, and accompanied by a green male who also needs chip repair, though you can't really tell as he's hiding behind a firecat pattern PYO griffin, the only one I have just now. Then the blue male that I'll hopefully finish someday, with the tiny heap of the russet curled dragon I just got yesterday in front. Limited production, signed, one of just thirty of him in the world, baby! (Though they may make more, "limited production" means that there is no firm cap on the eventual number, just that they'll never offer them as normal retail pieces through stores, and will always make small batches only.) Then there's a peacock hatching dragon, with a ruby scratching dragon behind him, and a gothic unicorn, one of my all-time favorite pieces! Though he also needs chip repair rather badly on his feet. Then another brown male and lastly an emerald hatching dragon.

Moving down we come to the center shelf of my cabinet, where an entire family of ki-rins in mint condition are holding the left, mother, baby, and male. Then a dark peacock oriental who needs some TLC on his front leg there, with a ruby lap dragon lurking behind him. The old-school baby pegasus sits in front of two flapcats, black bat-wing and siamese bird-wing, while behind them is a mint emerald oriental. Then the big Birman flapcat (more limited production stuff, yay!) is in the back corner, and the hand-painted Watergazer PYO ki-rin I won on ebay for a mere $45 (woo!) holds down the right.

And the final shelf, where most of the really neat/rare stuff is! We start with the pride of my collection, the emerald prototype old warior. He could only be displaced by another prototype old warrior in a rarer color, or by a secret keeper, none of which I'll get any time soon. There are only fifty of him in the whole world, and there will never be more. Then a whole flock of fledgelings, black gold, white, limited production brown, emerald, ruby, peacock (the one that started it all!) rainbow, and limited production gold. And then my ruby old warrior, that I got to resell but ended up keeping instead. So pretty!
I also own a peacock scratching dragon, but he's, well... let's say he's not in the best condition just now. He needs a LOT of TLC! But he was free, so I wasn't going to say no.
