Loot part I
Dec. 25th, 2006 01:14 amWell, being as how it's now technically Christmas, and there's no point waiting to open things, as my family isn't about to see me open them at the traditional 6 am time, I opened my stuff.
And I must say that I was MOST pleased. Two years running now JJ's gift has been the thing that totally made Christmas for me, but this year my mother actually gave me the BEST thing! (Not that I rank my gifts, and not that I care about monetary value, or any such. But there is always that one present that's the thing you never knew you wanted, and yet when you get it, it's exactly what you wanted, you know?)
So, loot thus far:
-A processor and RAM for the new computer from JJ. (Shiny! Too bad I can't use them yet...)
-Windstone Dragon bookeneds from Dexam. (Awesomeness!)
-Cthulhu stocking from Keith. (ZOMG! I'll never get any loot, Santa's not going to reach in there, Cthulhu will eat his hand!)\
-A little plush dragon from Keith. (It's cute!)
-Dark Side of the Moon remastered 5.1 version from Arkferret. (You little sneak you! Thanks!)
-A tiny dragon from Arkferret. (It's purple. It is in all other ways utterly unlike SPark. But purple is good.)
-A tye-dyed t-shirt from my baby sister Christen. (She actually bought it with her own money, and dyed it herself! It also came with these weird stretchy PJ pants that she apparently picked out for me, and an adorable drawing of a dragon. She's about as good as I was at that age, so maybe she'll be another artist.)
-A copy of Spacebread from Mom. (Something on my wishlist this year, as you may recall.)
-A copy of Sword and Sorceress X from Mom. (Also on the list, I think.)
-Ridiculous Hippy Pants! I knew Mom was making them, she had to get measurements from me, so she couldn't exactly hide them, but I never imagined that the results would be like this! They are the wildest, craziest, most fun pants I have ever owned in my life, and that's counting my hotpants and velvet pants with suspenders, and Yin's gothypants and everything. Heeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I am even now wearing them, with my tye-dyed shirt from Christen. I am thrilled! I think this counts among the best gifts I've ever recieved from family!

The photo doesn't show it well, but the fabric has this flower and vine pattern of colored dots that are slightly metallic. It's not over the top, but it's very wild. These were made from a pattern my mom bought when she was young and single in the 70s, so they're the real thing. I love 'em!
There remains, apparently, a gift from JJ's parents to open. (To my surprise, really. He hasn't really discussed our relationship with them, I think they know we're an item, but he thinks they think we're just roommates and friends. And in either case I hadn't expected a gift. I'm very curious about what it will be. They have the sort of taste where it's not going to be Precious Moments, but other than that, I've no clue.)
