You just can't get good help these days.

Edit: This has gone beyond annoying into "going to KILL" territory. After MONTHS of waiting, I am supposedly finally going to get my tails, and ears, and fabric, and pattern back. But we've been waiting here TWO FREAKING HOURS!!!!! And he's not here yet! He's driving from some place or other, but there's no way it's two hours' drive from here. Why did he say he was on his way when he WASN'T? We haven't eaten. We haven't done anything that needs doing today. And we're stuck here and the little @#%$^$% turns up.

Gah. I was going to go ahead and pay him the full agreed on price for his work, desipte the month+ wait, but screw that. He's going to be lucky to get gas money from this! Why didn't he just SHIP the damn things in the mail when he said he was? That would have cost him $10 at most.

I got an "apprentice." I'm honestly hazy on exactly when it was he came over and picked up his supplies. Quite some time ago. I'd have to look back through my lj to find the entry about it. The deal was I'd pay him a couple of bucks, and show him how I make things, an informal arrangement, as the paperwork on actually hiring somebody is a nightmare.

He sewed three tails and a dozen or so pairs of ears. No stuffing, no putting the tops on, no mounting ears on headbands, just the sewing together of the pieces. A couple hour's worth of work at most, really. I haven't had time to look at them yet, so I've no idea if they're even usable. This was to be his trial assignment, and if they came out well, we'd have a regular deal, where he'd take care of all my very basic stuff so I'd have more time to devote to things like heads and paws that take more effort.

Obviously, we will not be having a regular deal.

ah... yeah... ok, bummer. I wish I had a clone sometimes... but alas, if i got one now, it'd be at least 16 years before it would be of any use for me... and by then, it would have a life of its own... my daughter is the closest thing i have.

damn
