Well, there is hope yet, it seems! A very nice young college student at the local university here expressed an interest in my apprenticeship offer. I wasn't hoping too much, really, given my last bout of difficulties, but having met him in person now, I know that he's at least moderately socially ept, and has sewn one quite involved project already. (He brought it along to show me, it was a jacket, every bit as nice as anything I could possibly have done. Perhaps a bit nicer even, I don't really do clothing. He had help sewing it, but still, it's a good sign.) So I'm hopeful! He asked intelligent questions, and seemed to understand the basics. He went off with a yard and a half of fabric, a pattern, and some instructions. We'll see what comes back, and when.

Yay for things looking up!

Hopefully this person will be a better apprentice than the last attempt (although from what you said, I'm wondering how anyone with any degree of sewing experience could possibly be worse!)
