Con report
Jan. 23rd, 2007 02:00 pmI am not going to give the blow-by-blow of the con. It takes too long, and I doubt anybody reads those things anyhow. Insted, I shall give highlights.
I met scads of people. SCADS. They were mostly cool, and nobody stalked me.
A pile of sleeping gayboys is nearly as cute as a pile of sleeping kittens. Nearly.
Lance Ikegawa is my hero! Also, he thinks I've come a long way in making suits, yay! (And he suggested I do a write up on the experience of custom ordering fur from MM, which I thinkk is a good idea, and shall probably do later today.)
Airbrushing is way too much fun, but I despise noisy compressors. Happily due to the below point about profit, I may be able to get a nice, quiet one. Woot!
I have way too much fun speaking on panels, but I do not like being alone up there! I only have so much I can talk about before I run out of stuff, and FC's panel length is an hour and a half. That's a lot of time!
I am not a party animal. That's okay.
I made money! I'm not going to name numbers, I don't think. I have a strange paranoia about that. But... I knew I'd make at least what I did last year. I was better prepared and the con was bigger, so there's no way I could make less. I was fairly confident of making perhaps half again that much, reallly. And I hoped, but didn't dare hope too much, that I'd make maybe twice what I did last year. That would have been perfect and wonderful. Well, when I counted it up on the last day, I made more than twice as much! Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! So I can not only get the new computer I want, but I can not scrimp too much on it, and can afford an airbrush compressor, and maybe a nice Windstone as well. Woot!
The cats didn't kill each other while I was gone.
All is good!
Now I just have to get back to sewing, I have a lot of catching up still to do on that front.
