Gah, it's spreading! Eeeeeeeeevil... now my ears are full of gunk. I have this funny thing where my eustacian tubes (the things that connect your throat to your inner ear, the reason why yawning and swallowing can pop your ears,) are in the wrong place and my sinuses can drain into my ears. Normally this isn't too much of a problem, but this flu is spawning a sinus infection, and I can /feel/ the ick oozing into my ears. Not to mention I'm also losing hearing on one side, and it pops every single time I swallow.

This is beyond annoying...

Meep. Hopefully it's nothing serious, but I'd go see a doctor, just to be safe.

Aaaah, I have experience with this (be glad the eustacian tubes aren't getting blocked, otherwise you get appalling headaches), I have a few tips. One, hot drinks. No, really. Two, if you apply pressure to the sinuses in the right place (for me, it's the upper-middle of the forehead), you can alleviate the swelling. Three, sleep. Moving between upright and standing positions will help you "drain".

I hate to mention this next bit, but sitting down /won't/ help. At all.

Needless to say, ear buds may well come in handy too. The last thing you need right now is an ear infection on top of this.

Thanks for the advice. *sighs* Though some of it isn't terribly useful. My sinuses don't actually hurt, but my ear is stabbing pain every time I swallow. Just try not swallowing. It doesn't work...

As for sleep... *grins* On my way shortly... though frankly that's all I've done for the last week, it feels like.

You could always try laying on your stomache, so that the stuff drains from your ears to your sinuses, rather than the other way around...just keep a box of kleenex handy.
