She taunts me...
Apr. 11th, 2007 09:24 pm...with her current low price. It will not stay that low. Even if it did, right now I don't have the money to spare. But I could come close... Oh so close...
Of course "low" is in the eye of the beholder or something like that.
Someday she will be mine! Heck, the last one jumped to $800 on the first day of bidding and went for about $1k. And the one before that was something like $1,200 when it ended. If this one goes for $700, then perhaps the next will go for $500 or $600, and I might actually swing that in a couple of week's time, if I'm lucky. But rent first, and stuffing spare rent into savings second, and then Secret Keepers. But if I get lucky... if I get a new commission, and full payment on the rabbit suit which I am expecting, and a payment from one of my other customers, I could maybe, just maybe swing it.
I really like the white too. I wasn't sure about it at first, I liked the more vivid colors on her so much, the white looked strange. But really, of all the colorations it's the one that lets the sculpture itself shine through the best. And it's the sculpture that I like, not the paint job. Although the paint job is also a work of art, especially on the OOAK ones.
White is an interesting color on Windstones. When selling new it tends to be the least popular, and thus on auctions of new pieces it's the cheapest. And yet it being least popular with the general public means that once a sculpture in white is retired, it becomes the rarest, and many collectors get complete color sets, so they need white even if it's not their favorite, and so retired whites are the most expensive! Which, honestly, means that getting a white Secret Keeper could be the investment of a lifetime. *grin* But investment or not, I want one. Anybody got $700 they'd like to give me?
