Well, I started the day by walking down to the Volunteer Clinic to see a doctor about my fatigue/sleeping problems. (Sleeping 12 hours some nights and then still feeling tired isn't exactly normal.) I had to get blood drawn, which is always minorly traumatic for me, I'm apparently very hard to get.

The EOU thing has just gotten all kinds of bizarre... I don't exactly regret getting involved, but I sure wish I'd realized exactly how thoroughly disorganized it all was before getting into it.

Auction for my lava ki-rin ended at $56. This is, I think, an all new low. I was tempted into doing this by the high prices some PYOs have been fetching lately, but apparently my PYOs are not going to fetch such prices, and I really should quit selling them on ebay. It cost me a touch over $40 to get the statue, ($35 + shipping) and I spent quite a long time painting it, and I don't think I'm getting even a dollar an hour for the thing. Not worth it at all. I suppose I should have put on a reserve, but I hate auctions with reserves.

Now I need to get sewing. Sewing machine still hasn't arrived, and neither has my polyfill stuffing, so there's a limit on what I can work on. I'll probably get some paws done.

Difficult to get blood from? You and me both! They always have to go "excavating" when it's an inexperienced nurse. The last couple times I've been lucky and gotten this woman who just whips it in and out and is done in mere moments. I'm not too shy around needles, but even I get feeling a little lightheaded and queasy when they have to struggle at it... @_@

I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaate needles. I'm not one of those people who faints, but I can't look, and I always feel kind of light-headed and freaked out, no matter how well it goes. But it never goes entirely smoothly. *shudders* The gal taking my blood today was apparently their most experienced person, she'd done half a dozen people before me while I waited and hadn't needed to poke any of them twice, but she poked me three times.

She was really nice though, she sort of chattered at me the whole time, so I had to pay attention to what she was saying and not what she was doing. That helps a ton.

Hey, SPark, guess what? I might be following you to Eugene after all. We just got back from our road trip through the area, and Eugene is at the top of my list of about ten towns for J to apply for teaching jobs. Gorgeous. And a lot more developed than I thought it would be. If not Eugene, than maybe Springfield or Corvallis.

Crazy, huh?

You're like my stalker! First going to SUU and following me to Weber State, and now maybe following me to Oregon too! *grins*

And yes, Eugene is lovely, and like a mini-city, it has all the stuff a city needs, but is still small and homey despite it. Corvallis is pretty nice too, though Springfield is sort of the Ogden of the area, it's a little more Ghetto, but still nice enough.

Springfield's like that, eh? Nice to know... Just'In's not fond of Ogden because of its invasion of Mexicans, but no matter how much I debate politics with him AND his dad (immigration opinions and such), I don't really see anything wrong with it. Maybe it's cause I'm from New Mexico and I'm used to the diversity.

We like Wenatchee and Everett in Washiungton too. We've got a list of, like, sixteen towns to check out in the area.

It would be way creepy if we moved to Eugene. It's still my #1, but way creepy.

Ah. Funny, all the nurses tell me when I give blood that it's very easy to spot a place to poke. I've only had to be poked twice once, and that was because the needle was blocked.

The EOU thing reminds me of tightrope-walking without a net. If balanced and pulled off, it looks fantastic. But if something falls...

I think the problem is that something DID fall. Several times. And the project has been hoisted laboriously back up to the rope and started off again...

Tenacity and persistence will only get you so far, though. Eventually, skill or practice has to be included for it to work.
