JJ is getting a new bed. In order to get the new bed into the apartment, we had to move my Windstone collection out of the way, and in order to do that of course I had to move them out of the cabinets, so while they were out anyhow, I took some photos! Some with and some without flash. With flash is better to the real color, but of course it washes out detail a lot and adds to many shine spots to the shiny finish ones.

First, we have a photo of this blue male I repainted a lot time ago. He's not done, because I still can't decide if I should drybrush him and make him all textural, or put on interference and metallics and make him all shiny. Any votes either way, or other suggestions?

And then there's my latest ki-rin. Don't tell anybody on the forums! It's a secret until it arrives where I'm going to send it this week.

Then we have my "circle." Several of the larger collectors have put together circles of matching dragons, particularly old warrior dragons, though also lap dragons and male dragons. I am not rich enough to have large numbers of any of these (I have 2, 1, and 3, respectively) But I am rich enough to have a circle of fledglings. In fact once I get the newly released emerald peacock color, I'll have every fledgling color there is.

And the crowning glory, the entire collection in one place! There are 52 pieces in this shot. I've been collecting since December 2004, so really I've got a huge collection compared to most, as pretty much everyone I know with a bigger one has been collecting much longer. (With the exception of tc, who seems to have only been collecting a few months, but who came into an inheritance and spent it all on Windstones, which is why her collection is more than mine already!)

http://bladespark.topcities.com/collection0711.jpg is a high-res version of the whole thing, so you can see more detail on all the stuff.

I need to make a new Windstone icon...

Wow, now that's a nice collection when displayed together. Lookit all the pretty shiny colours! 0.0 Those Lackey books complement them nicely too. ;D

You know, I think a circle of fledgelings works better than any of the other bigger/pricier pieces anyway. ;) They are having a fledgling council! Or plotting...

Fledglings always do look like they're up to something.

Although I'd love to have an Old Warrior council. *grins* Oh yessssssssss... but given the $300-$1500 price tag on them, er... not so much.

Ohh yes, my first choice (since I'm not usually a fledgling fan) would be Old Warriors too. That'd look awesome. Would need a really sturdy display table though... ¬_¬ Hey, what about a circle of Secret Keepers (were money definitely no object, of course!!) That would look pretty awesome too! ^_-

Oh yeah, almost forgot: my vote for the unfinished blue male would be shine and highlights also. Textural would be nice too, but I think his simple colour scheme looks best now and would look great with some interference or other flashy goodness.

Yeah, I'm leaning towards the shiny myself. *nods* Mostly blue, but with a few hints of other colors, maybe. And probably some silver accents to finish it off. Blue and silver look pretty classy, I think.

I agree! I was going to suggest silver initially, but thought I saw gold on some of the claws (gold and silver don't always seem to work well together, I find). I think that'd be a snazzy colour scheme with silver, especially with the black regions in there too. Can't wait to see. :)

Gold is on the claws because I haven't painted them over yet. He was peacock when I started, and for some reason acetone doesn't strip off the gold paint at all, although it removes the other colors quite handily.

Gold, being a metallic paint, is probably a different basing. I forget the name right now...

...But but but shiny dragon yes

Then again, I'm probably biased - but a dark shiny is a very, very pretty thing. I'd know. :D

Wow, what a lovely collection! I should probably do an updated group shot myshelf. I love the fledgling circle. I had not thought of putting them together like that.
