Reading a forum where people are getting loud, vociforous, and even antagonistic over the genetics of snakes is amusing. It also makes me very glad I've no interest in breeding, and no real desire for "designer" morphs. I'd just like one normal, average, brown mottled ball python, preferrably male. Man, I SO wish I could get it right now!

It's amusing how much people will pay for a morph. Sure, they're pretty, but they are just the same inside as the normal phase if you aren't planning on breeding the things.

I'm perfectly happy with my normal rainbow boa. She isn't fancy and, in fact, has a few odd-shaped bits on her pattern, but I love her. And I will never breed her.

:D

yeah. the only things that drive me nuts are the people who breed animals with no eyes or skin and that crap. Inter-species hybrids also don't interest me much, because the indiviual species are so cool i really don't see the point in mixing unless there is some awesome combo that results in it.
I'm just breeding plain old pastels, my little girl is so cool and one of the friendliest snakes i've had.

You are in luck, normal males are the cheapest balls you can get, just be sure to get him from a reliable seller or breeder. Good breeding means a healthy and happy snake that will eat well for you. It's important even to those who aren't ever going to breed, just because a snake with genetic or tempermental problems is no fun pet to own.

Rainbow Boas are so lovely! ^_^
