So today's work thus far includes finishing the pony hands for a fursuit. (Realistic-ish ones that are pretty dang cool, if I do say so myself.) And also attempting to get the head off of the Pink pony. It is not cooperating at all, even with boiling, all that happened was that it got all deformed. The plastic was squishing around everywhere, and it was a pain to get it back into shape before it set again, but the glue didn't soften one bit. And I boiled it for like ten minutes. I'm probably going to just end up fully decapitating it too. Bah.

They're made from a heatform plastic fabric called Wonderflex.

Cool, now I know that it works. ^^ I'm helping my brother make himself a horse suit and was considering wonderflex for the hooves. What size sheet did you buy for this?

I got the second to smallest size, but that was for all four hooves, with lots left over. (I forget the exact measurement.)

and the cool thing about the newest G3 ponies (that makes them great for customizing!) is the fact that their heads arent glued ;)

Man, why did I have to get one that's glued on like Fort Knox then? *pokes at it* I TRIED to buy a new pony, but WalMart was OUT OF PONIES! There was ONE left on the shelf when I was there, and it was the wrong color and had a gemstone on it's butt, which you can't get off without half destroying the pony. *muttermutter*

i can find a pink one for you if youd like. :)

Well, Pink is the name of the character, the pony is actually going to be white. (Confusing, I know! But "Pink" from the wall is pasty pale and has black hair, and that's how I want the pony to look.) Anyhow, I know WalMart has got to restock ponies eventually, I can get one myself I'm sure.

Ooh, hooves... I have a big pile of questions about the hooves. :)

What do the bottoms look like? Do they clip-clop? Would it be possible to get a picture of someone wearing them? How durable are the hoof walls going to be? How much do they cost? ^_^

They clip clop beautifully. The bottoms are just flat, they're not properly hoof shaped there, I'm afraid. I'll try and get a photo of them on me once my boyfriend is about to take said photo. The hoof walls are HUGELY durable, but the paint may need touching up eventually after a lot of wear. The cost $120. And these are hands, if I didn't make that clear, the feet will have to be shaped differently, because feet wouldn't fit into these.

Ahh, hands. Ok. I can't wait to see the feet when they're done. Stupid question, tho... how do they work as hands?

He he he. They don't "work" really. *grins* Customer said he'd rather they looked like hooves than be able to grab things, so... they look like hooves.

Yay, I hoped you'd like them!

I did want to ask, I can't find if you said or not already... Would you prefer those to pull on over the arms sleeves, as separate pieces, or would you want them attached? Benefit of attached - they can't slide down. Benefit of pull on - you can use your hands while getting the bodysuit on, so it's easier.
