More snake reading. I think I've found everything there is to be found on the net about rainbow boas. To the point where I'm ending up find the same stuff over and over again now.

It is endlessly fascinating. I even did a you tube search on them, and watched a modest stack of videos, mostly of them feeding though also a really fascinating one that was just closeups of coils sliding past coils, which was rather awesome. They are soooooooooooooooo pretty, and so active.

(I want a snake! I have no patience! Snake!)

Rainbow boas are amazingly pretty! And I know the waiting game, it took me eight months of reading caresheets before I got Bernard. Good luck with it! :)

The rainbow boa, at least mine, is an incredibly busy snake. She never sits still.

yay! they are so pretty. It sucks when you find the "end of the internet" on a subject. my pastel BP just shed and made me all excited about snakes again! :D
oh and there is a reptile show in Portland on November 17-18th, you should go! you can talk the heck out of sellers and get some decent deals on accessories. the problem is preventing yourself from buying all the adorable snakes/frogs/newts/lizards/etc, etc etc. The same group:
http://www.westcoastcaptivebreeders.com had a show in Eugene in March, if they have one next year I will be trying to go to it, they are fun mini vacations, we could meet up with my reptile friends and keep each other from buying EVERYTHING! lol...

I am now obsessed with Pac man or horned frogs, they are so cute and eat anything, my roomate bought a little albino dude at the Medford show yesterday when we drove up there.

I've never been able to get into frogs, really. They're neat and all, but not anything I want as a pet.

I would love to hang out at a reptile show with you someday, I certainly would go to one in Eugene! I might even manage to get all the way to Portland for one.

In all honesty, I love it that you're reading up before you buy a snake. On a whip my mom bough a snake and killed it within three hours (over heating). So she brought it back and got another one. It escaped and we never found it (I think one of my cats ate it). We are now on our third snake and it has lasted a month so far.
