Snake adventures.

bladesparkSo having returned from our trip with a slight excess of funds (which was a happy surprise for us both! We'd budgeted generously, but we had some unexpected expenses, so still coming in under budget was spiffy,) we went out to do a little shopping today. I bought a desk. I've been using an old fish tank stand for a nightstand/desk for some time now. Having a real desk is going to be quite nice.
We also, while we were out, stopped by the reptile store. They've gotten some new things in, including a pair of baby ball pythons, and a six foot redtail boa. I held a python, the redtail, and one of the baby rainbow boas too. I still love rainbows, but I'm just about sold on getting two snakes, actually. (Yes, I know! Next thing I'll be buying racks and talking about breeding. Except not, I think I may manage to stop at two. I stopped at two cats, after all.) Anyhow, the baby balls are so adorable, that I think I may get one of those this week with the rest of my leftover trip money, plus a little I have managed to squirrel away. And then in a few months, when the ball is settled in and I'm used it it, I'll pick up a rainbow boa.
I'm really looking forward to it. Balls are just adorable and cute and fun, and they get at maximum to about the size of the redtail I held today, which was, although big, a manageable size. And holding a six foot tropical constrictor was lots of fun! It sort of curled around everything, and had a grip of death. But was ticklish! Which was handy considering I eventually needed to pry him off of me, and see above about grip of death. The idea of having a snake like that, although it will take years to reach that size, is awesome! Eeeeeeeeee, snake! Snake very, very, very soon! *bounce*
