When I mention that I've decided to get a ball python before getting a rainbow boa, telling me that I'm getting a "pet rock" and that it's "guaranteed" that I'll decide I don't want it after I actually own a rainbow is rather rude. It's not like I've never seen a rainbow, and am going to go "OMG, so pretty" and throw away the ball python as soon as I do see one. I've HELD a real live rainbow, AND a real live ball (several, even) and I like them BOTH, for crying out loud, or I wouldn't be getting both.

Yeah. The rainbows I've handled have moved around a bit more, or at least a bit faster, but it's not like balls just sit there. They cruise all over. (And pick pockets.)

Mine are always more active in the late evening, so that might have something to do with it too. I found out I may be buying another one soon as the little female has escaped and the Spooky is acting a bit depressed without his companion.
