A suspicious case of identical boots. Fascinating and disturbing. A story about Police in Canada "arresting" some "violent rioters" that were at an otherwise peaceful protest. Said rioters never did have charges pressed against them, and when the photos are examined, somebody notices something interesting. The police and the "rioters" have precisely identical boots. Tread pattern, certification marking, and all.

Poor Canada. I think America is infectious, and it's spreading.

*DELETE* Bah, my mistake, wrong point to make... your comment was about the disturbing act by the police not something about the paranoia/fear-mongering going on by government in the US. Duh... but apparently we really still do smoke too much marijuana to care much about anything. ;D

I blame my lack of sleep for improper piecing together of partial sentences! I need a "duh" icon O_o

It was proven, that during the Montebello North-American Conference, the RCMP had agents disguised as rioters. They were caught by cellphone cams and digital cameras, trying to disturb the peaceful protesters.

Protesters don't carry armoured vests. Or the aforementioned boots...

Yep. The same kind of paranoia that thinks Quakers are going to be terrorists has police agents looking for any excuse to say "See? They were violent! We had to beat them down!" Since when did peaceful protest get the response of provocation or violent crackdown?

Since when didn't it? I think the phrase you were looking for is "since when did it deserve the response..."

Kind of the same response to both, though. It shouldn't deserve it, and it shouldn't have ever got it, but it does. That's wrong.
