I'm selling some ponies. Details here: http://www.mlparena.com/Forums/viewtopic/p=1601513.html#1601513
I also just completed another set, woot!

They're so pink! Daddy Bright Bouquet is the least manly boy pony ever, and that includes the boy ponies that were made in female pony molds! Mine is eve less manly, because his tail is curled and has a ribbon in it. I didn't do that though, he came that way. I never did like styling pony hair, other than occasionally braiding it so it wouldn't get all over.
I am selling ponies, because I am soooooooooooooooooooooooo close to having enough to get a rainbow boa at the reptile show this weekend. OMG! Snake! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaant! Even if I don't manage to get a boa though, the show will be fun. We're making a weekend vacation of it, as it's in Portland, and there's plenty to do there.

Date: 2007-11-15 04:48 am (UTC)I wonder though.. are they just painted with acrylics? are they bleached dyed? some look so bright! or just painted and then like varnished?? Or are they mostly just bought or found in the color that they are to be then embelished?
I've already considered the prospect of cutting off the heads (I'd reglue it back of course) To get the hair changed out..
And I think I have some acetate that would strip off the existing paint..
Sorry.. I am so full of questions.. lol
Whee! I sure hope you find some buyers and can get your rainbow boa..

Date: 2007-11-15 04:53 am (UTC)As for ponies, my collection is nothing! Particularly if you're looking at the ones I'm selling, that's not my collection, that's the extras I don't need! I'm keeping a LOT more. But you should see some of the serious collectors they have hundreds, maybe even thousands! I only collect the boys, and their wives and children for the family sets, and a few random girls I just happen to like.
Customs are made all kinds of ways. A lot of people just use a pony already in the color they're after. The customs I'm selling, the ponies came those colors already, but people do repaint them.
For head removal, I prefer, if I can, to get the glue loose and pull the head off intact. I've had such a time trying to get the one where I actually cut off his head to stay on, it keeps falling off. It's off right now, in fact. Annoying thing!

Date: 2007-11-15 05:04 am (UTC)The colors of the set of ponies you had up for sale looked so bright, and clean but still looked like an older model of pony(but then again what do I know.. lol!), tis why I wondered.. They are very pretty
Darnit.. I am soo tempted to go raid my daughters toybox right now! lol..
