Here's something fun and happy, after all this annoyance, stress, and drama. Photos of Anthony, eating a HUGE mouse.

Holy crap! It was at this point, after Anthony had struck and was constricting, that I realized how huge this thing was compared to him, and worried a little. By the basic rule of thumb, it should be fine (mouse no fatter than the fattest part of snake) but man... it looks so huge!

Okay, I've "killed" it. Now what?

Ah, right. I'm supposed to start at the head.

Now, can somebody just tell me which bit the head is? Is it here in the middle?

Or maybe it's over here, at this end? (I wish I could have videotaped this bit. He grabbed the mouse by the butt, and was sort of hauling it around the tub that way!)

Oh, I know! It's this bit right here, isn't it?! (This photo completely cracks me up!)

I put him aside for a bit, because it was obvious he was going to be a while figuring this out... And he did evetually find the head. Silly snake!

Tail still going down! Look at how stretched his neck skin is! Snakes are pretty amazing things, really.

This one here is after he was all done, and it was down. Wow! What a lump! And look at the way his neck is still all stretched out!

And just for fun, here's a photo of him eating his second or third meal, when I first got him. Yes, he's in the same tub. Just four months, and look at how he's grown!!!

That's awesome. Having finished our Advanced reptile course I'm actually really keen to keep a snake now. My current house mate is some what terrified of snakes and I wouldn't be tha nasty to him.

Maybe some point in the future.

Yeah. My mom really dislikes snakes. I've wanted one since I was just a kid, but I've had to wait until now.

I know how ya feel. I'm the only one in my family that when they think of a family pet to have dog as a second. If i could there'd be a ferret(or two)running about in a cage/the house

Man, it was always opposite with me. My mom was fine with snakes but my stepdad hated them, so I couldn't have one as a kid, and now I have a terrified husband. Sigh. At least he's not as freaky about them as he is about spiders, so I actually have a chance if I wheedle and warm him up right (or don't tell him as with the last snake I got. Alas for snake-freeing cats).

wow. in all honesty (and of course im not trying to start a debate or anything), but that looks like a young female rat. when i first got Peaches, Cream and Saint, they were just slightly larger than adult mice. might be that someone fucked up and mistook a young rat for a large mouse? its possible i guess.

but wow look at him go!! he is so gorgeous!

Well, I got it with two things that are definitely normal adult mice from a guy who breeds them, so I think it's just a monster mouse. *grins*

And yes. I lurves my snakes! I have more photos I should post today...
