One spotty cat, all finished.

Well, except I keep forgetting that I haven't sewn the neckflap up until I notice it flapping loose in photos, darn it. Oh well. And I may make the tail a little larger if the customer wants me to.

Why is it that when i look at the various parts, they seem a bit cheesy, and then when I see the whole thing put together, it looks just right?

Also, my personal preference for tails would be a bit longer, and pointed at the end instead of round.

I am going to lengthen it, turns out. But snow leopards have very rounded tails, unlike housecats.

That is a lot rounder than I thought the real ones would be.

Now, was Kali bathing herself or attacking the snow leopard tail? The photos make it hard to discern. *grins*

What did you make it's nose out of? The suit looks good, I especially like the head and those eyes.

The nose is model magic, painted and sealed with a gloss coat.

I really love everything about that head; the ears, muzzle and nose are particularly well-made. Mind, the whole suit is awesome, however.

Wow, that's beautiful. :D

Seeing all the white reminds me of a question I've been meaning to e-mail, given the colors on my stuff -- this is probably duh, but I'm not sure: how do you keep it that radiant white over time, especially without damaging the other colors? I'm not so good at the care and feeding of fuzzy things like this. :)

Well, bleach has pretty much no effect on fur fabric color, so you can bleach the heck out of the whites without worrying about the other colors(though I cannot guarantee this, I've never bleached anything myself, so you may want to do a test spot first.) However if the fabric itself is starting to yellow rather than just collect dirt, you're out of luck. I just use regular old liquid detergent in the bathtub or sink, myself, and know that eventually with hard wear it's bound to be less white. Just don't dry it with heat, heat is the thing that's bad for fur, and will make your discoloration completely permanent, and probably ruin the fabric itself while you're at it.

Ooh! Purty! Great definition and shape on the head. And I just LOVE that fabric! You airbrushed that yourself, didn't you? One thing I'm curious about, though is that far eye. It shows as white in the photos.

I did airbrush it, yes. The far eye is showing as white because from the angle there you can only see the white part. Both eyes are visible in these shots: http://bladespark.topcities.com/costume/head_done05.jpg
