Mini spheres!
Apr. 3rd, 2008 06:14 pmI got in three sets today. I've picked out my keepers, so here's the rest for you folks.
First up, Sodalite. I got this just because I like how some of them look like planets from space. I didn't know this before they came, but they do actually have a very subtle silver chatoyant effect in the darker areas. Quite interesting.
$3 each.

Next, more Labradorite. All of these are nice pieces, I ended up keeping almost half of them, but I couldn't keep them all.
$3 each.

Last, astrophylite. This comes from Russia, which as far as I know is the ony source of it. It's deep, slightly translucent black with thread-like fans of blue chatoyance and occasional flashes of silver as well. And the deep red inclusions are garnet, so it's just neat all around. The chatoyance is quite subtle, mind, you won't see it except in bright light, but it's still nifty.
$3.50 each
