Noooooooooooooooooooo matter how young a prune may be, he's always full of wrinkles.
A baby prune is like his dad, but he's not wrinkled quite so bad.
We have wrinkles on our faces,
Prunes they have them every old place!
No matter how young a prune may be, he's always full of wrinkles.
Yes, that was random. No, I don't think I can explain, except to say that it's one of my mother's songs. If you know about my mother's songs, this should suffice. Though my grandmother's songs are even more odd, at times.
And on the subject of prunes, I am now curious. When you bathe/shower, and stay in long enough to get pruney fingers, do you a.) not care at all, b.) like the sensation (dunno how that's possible, but I includ it for completeness's sake) or c.) dislike the sensation.
I definitely answer C. Yucky. I only put up with it because I love long showers and long baths and so it's worth it.

Date: 2008-06-13 05:55 pm (UTC)Re: strange songs the family sings -
Black socks, they never get dirty,
The longer you wear them, the stronger they get!
Sometimes I think I should launder them;
Something keeps telling me
Don't wash them yet, not yet, not yet!
I recall my uncle teaching me this one. He swears solemnly that he never knew such a song in his life, but as it is exactly the sort of thing he'd do, I don't believe him. (The song is actually a round, but I've never met anyone else who knows it/can learn it well enough to sing it as a round with me without getting lost.)
Also:
It's only an old beer bottle
Out there on the wall
It's only an old beer bottle
With no beer left at all!
In it is a piece of paper
These words are written on:
"Whoever finds this bottle fiiiinds
The beer - all - gone!"
And I haven't a clue who taught me that, but I've known it for as long as I can remember.
