Two things.

I feel bad because I just missed the deadline on this. It's only the second time I've just flat-out missed a deadline. I was sick, so I have some excuse, but I don't like it. :( But the pony itself is pretty neat. Not done yet, because I have to do the interior that allows it to be puppeted. I didn't think it through, and didn't buy lining specifically for it, and just today realized that the lining I have for projects in general is pink. Which, uh, would make the hand slit very obvious when it wasn't in use. And kind of weird looking. Yeah. So, have to buy black lining fabric.

The last new gem stuff I'll have up for sale for a while, probably. I've had these for some time, I just never got around to taking photos. They're nice, good as examples for a collection but not jewelry quality. So I'd let them go pretty cheap, even though they're all very large. (I need to get a photo with more scale info, really. The biggest sphere is something like 70mm, which is pretty darn big for a stone sphere.) Anyhow, let me know if you're interested. I still have oodles of other stone/gemstone stuff up for sale as well, of course.

Oodles more spheres, gems, and other odds and ends for sale in my sales gallery. http://www.sparkcostumes.com/gallery/index.php?cat=4

Actually, what the heck. I could stand to get rid of some of the gems and stones. Consider all the gems, spheres, and things filed under "misc" to be half price for the next few days. Just drop me a comment, pm, or e-mail if you're interested.

Eh. How much you got? $5-10 per is the range I'm thinking of.

AHAHAHA! I'm loling at having pink lining because assuming the hand opening is anywhere near its rear end... I can just imagine the customer's face XD

The horse looks adorable. Your own pattern?

I'm working on a plush for a present and it's just buggery frustrating. Has to be done within a week.. bah. No time to order any supplies so no clue what I'm making the nose out of or attaching the eyes with. And lets not even get into my mess up with embroidering its face.

... I should stick with fursuits..

From: [identity profile] bladespark.livejournal.com
Plushes are rather different from suits, I've found. Some of mine I carve an upholstery foam head, because detailing facial features without structure underneath is just a pain in the butt. But that's why this one is kind of blobby-faced, because I can't put in a foam head, there has to be a hand in there. And yeah, it's my own pattern. All my plushes are, I don't like commercial patterns, and hey, the customer is paying for one of a kind, right?

Though the hand opening is at the base of the neck, sort of hidden under the mane. So it would have a neck-vagina if I did it in pink. *grins*

hahaha 'neck vagina'. I'm praying there's no rule 34 on that one XD

Yeah, in the future I think I'd carve a head.. this is just out of my depths... but I'll just have to finish this thing and hope it's not a disaster :/ Unfortunately, most of my first attempts usually are XD

... it's the thought that counts right XD XD

There is rule 34. Don't ask. You don't want to know. I don't want to know. *twitch*

Heh heh, obligatory cat-shot...

Those spheres looks really awesome. Would love to get some, but I guess the shipping wouldn't be worth it. Shipping sucks :/
Anyway, they rock! :)

From: [identity profile] bladespark.livejournal.com
Eh, they're not that heavy. I could send them parcel post to somewhere in the US for probably $3-4, or even international for only $5-6, I bet. If you want me to give you an exact estimate on one or all of them, I can weigh them and use a zip code or country to let you know how much it would be.

Hey there! It would be awesome if you could check this for me. I live in Germany, so this would be the place where they would be shipped. As I am into studying now, not that much money is left, I just would buy one of them.
Anyway, thank you for answering and in advance also for checking this :)

Aww, Germany is one of the more expensive ones. It'd be $9 to ship one. :( Sorry about that.

Date: 2008-08-30 09:37 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] dergreif.livejournal.com
No need to apologize. :) But this makes me thinkin. I have friends in other countries where I could get them any time. How about Austria? Would that be cheaper? Thank you for looking!

Date: 2008-08-30 09:43 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] bladespark.livejournal.com
Well, from here to Australia is actually pretty much the same. ($8.65) I don't know how much it'd be from Australia to Germany, my postal calculator only does the USA.

Date: 2008-08-31 08:28 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] dergreif.livejournal.com
Not Australia. Actually I asked for Austria. Neighbor-country of Germany ;)

From: [identity profile] bladespark.livejournal.com
I'm so with it! So do you mean you want the shipping cost from the USA to Austria then?

Date: 2008-08-31 09:38 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] dergreif.livejournal.com
Yeah that would be cool. I have relatives there who would forward it to me for nothing at all. If Austria would be cheaper this would be awesome

Date: 2008-08-31 10:36 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] bladespark.livejournal.com
Nope, looks like that's exactly the same. Sorry.

Date: 2008-08-31 01:11 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] dergreif.livejournal.com
Ah okay. In this case I need to ask you a big favour. Would it be okay for you to kinda "reserve" one for me? (~should be about 45-60 mm) You see, shipping in this case is likely the same amount of money like the sphere itself. So I would wait until I have some more money left over. Cuz I consider purchasing another item (probably a tail) as well. When I have the money, I would purchase both to save shipping costs and to make it "worth the amount". Yeah, Germany is expensive, you're right. I asked several guys who did purchase things from the US.
Well, that's it. Would that be okay for you?

Date: 2008-08-31 11:23 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] bladespark.livejournal.com
Sure. I don't think I could save you one forever, but I could at least hang onto one for a few months. :) Doesn't look like anybody else wants one right now anyhow, so you should be good.

Awww, really cool. Just let me finish moving to my new flat then I probably have more money left over :) Thanks anyway!

Oh, I must have missed this in the packing rush before we left out! Thought the mane/tail were going to be more hair-like though?

Date: 2008-09-04 02:14 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] bladespark.livejournal.com
*facepalm* I just realized that it was Tech I was talking to about the mane and tail, and I never did actually talk to you about it. Did you want the Doll hair/toy pony hair kind of hair then?

Date: 2008-09-04 10:57 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] wolfmare.livejournal.com
*nods* I did. I remember you said it would be an experiment, since you hadn't done that with a plush before... Something like that, anyway. I wish I'd had logging turned on to be sure, but I think the deal was that since it was something you'd have to work out a technique for, I got charged about the same even though it'd take a little more work. I know the first time trying something is always the most likely to get goofed or be difficult.

I know Tech mentioned the color to me, and asked if it was okay if it didn't match the body perfectly (which *is* fine by me), but he didn't mention whether it was fur or hair. And even I ditzed and didn't think to ask :(

Anyway, gotta go get the munchkin ready for school. Bleh, mornings! I hate them! Having Con Crud doesn't help.

From: [identity profile] bladespark.livejournal.com
You're right. I'm really with it, I totally forgot about that discussion. Well, I guess it will be delayed a little longer then while I get the hair and figure out how to replace the mane with it. Sorry! I'll get it done as soon as I can.

No worries... I didn't end up doing as much puppet stuff as I'd thought I would this year, so even the missed deadline didn't end up being a big deal. Maybe bump it to be sometime before Solstice?

Oh! Almost forgot... If you have a Sally's up there, or any decent beauty supply stores, they have hair extension stuff that would work fine, and fairly cheap too.

I got a HUGE bundle of it in black to use for MLP stuff... Just haven't gotten around to using it. Same kinda stuff Folkmanis uses though, as far as I can tell.
