Doodled this for somebody over at FA who was the first to respond to my call for subject material. It's on a roughly 3" x 5" piece of paper, so it's quite tiny.
It's cute! It seems like small sketches like that can be pretty tricky, because it doesn't leave a lot of room to get things right. This sure came out well. ^^
I find I sometimes work better small. I've done huge big things, but I really am more comfortable working quite small. That's why I ended up deciding to get these sketchbooks.
I like that a lot-- I was enjoying the strong lines and the composition so much that it took a little while to register that it's a tiger with a ball of yarn.
Totally. It has a very appealing, graphic feel. Gives it a nice clean finish.
I actually found some more old, schoolbook note sketches where I drew in black pen with comic-style shading and varied line weights. I'd totally forgotten I'd done all that! Heh, a collection of all the things I would rather do during Calculus, Stratigraphy and Geophysics...
