Announcement!

I am getting married!

*does gleeful dance* I've been sitting on this news for long enough that I thought I was going to explode. (About three days, I'm very bad with patience.) But it is official! JJ and I are engaged. The wedding will probably be sometime in September. This is going to make my life a little crazy for the next while, but it will be so worth it!

Hey Congrats sis looks like come september we'll be having a nice long road trip so that all the family can come, flying us all would be way to pricey. I'm curious if there was any specific thing that triggered this, I mean you two have been together for quite sometime why now? It's funny because Mom has been saying that she'll have to do a wedding this year. She has been saying this because my missionary is coming home this april(who asked me to stop writing him a year ago so I can't really rely on him still wanting to marry me) Haha now even if I don't get married mom will still be marrying off a daughter this year. Well like I said before congratulations!

I don't know about the road trip... JJ and I will be coming to Utah for a family get together/open house/whatever there, because really all we're doing here is going to the courthouse and signing the paper, and then having a reception, so there's not really going to be a "wedding" exactly. It seems silly to have the whole family dragged out here for that. Dunno. If you all want to come of course you're welcome, I suppose even just Mom and Dad driving out is possibly still cheaper than flying, and if they're going to drive everybody might as well come.

If you do come, you and Christen will have to be bridesmaids. (Well, I'd originally planned on a reception in Utah too, and having you /be/ bridesmaids at that, but then Mom suggested just having a family dinner somewhere, since I don't know anybody in Utah who isn't family to invite them anyhow.)

So... I guess we'll see how things work out.

As for why... JJ's been worried for a long time that his family would try to break it off, because he's so young. And his parents were 35+ when they got married, so his family doesn't exactly have a tradition of marrying young the way ours does. So he's just been putting it off, and I finally convinced him that his parents were okay with it. (They certainly are okay with us dating.) Were it up to me this would have happened sometime in 2006 or so. Although admittedly he WAS pretty young back then.

Ah I see well I'm glad he wised up and stopped being a chicken :) Now that you and mom have talked about the wedding and your plans for it it does look like we won't be coming up. At least we'll have a nice dinner when you come to utah. Are you just coming for one day or will you hang around a few days? I know mom would love to have all of us go out and bond in someway :) good ol family bonding

We should be there for a couple of days. :) We're taking a national parks road trip as our honeymoon, so we'll be driving on to go down to Zion, and the Grand Canyon, and I'm not sure where else, really. But we should have time for a couple of days in Ogden.

I don't know if she owns or has made one. Yet. I do recall, hopefully correctly, somewhere along the line, though, a proper welcoming with water weaponry for a BoardieCon that involved the various Admirals and their uniforms, so I think that Admiral Jordanis does have one.
