Today is going to suck massively. I have fursuiters flipping out at me, I have shipping people giving me wildly contradictory information, and I just plain am not having a good day. (UPS says the smaller boxes would be $30-ish, Pakmail says they'll be $50+ while JT told me DHL would take my larger boxes, and the DHL customer service line got me a REALLY unhelpful lady who said sorry, no, too big end of story. I'm about ready to KILL somebody.)

The only saving grace is that the last of my Windstone orders came today (the last for a very long time, I'm afraid,) and they're spiffy.

...heh

Well, after many attempts to get some sort of deal, who do I find will end up shipping these things the cheapest? The good old USPS. Once I got them out of the boxes and plastic wrapped 'em, they're juuuuuuuuuuuuust small enough to fit under the size restrictions.

Figures.

I think that after this I'm just going to refuse to even consider shipping with anybody else for anything but outright freight shipping. I'd rather not run around and around and around to find that the place I normally go was the best place to go after all.

*flop*

I manhandled and repackaged 11 rolls of fabric originally. Now I have been unboxing them and repackaging again, and I've just hit the end. I am not muscular. Were it not for JJ I wouldn't have been able to move some of them at all, but I can't make him do all this for me, it's my job, I need to do what I can myself. And I managed to get four of them completely repackaged and ready to go, but that's it. I have zero energy left.

And given that it's probably going to take me all of tomorrow to finish repacking them, and then the next day will be spent shipping them, well...

There goes my week.

Which means all of my commissions have to be bumped back. Bleah.

Arts!

Took a good long break from the fur packing, and painted some. I feel too guilty about all the time I'm losing to just waste the rest of the day, and painting a gryphon is pretty easy, really. I've done enough of 'em now. (I REALLY want the kirins and dragons to come out. I'm kinda bored with gryphons now.) This is the last gryphon commission I'll be taking for a while. I've got a modest stack of minis to paint if I get bored, and one more personal Windstone dragon repaint to do, and the gryphons just aren't bringing in enough money to be worth it. This current one sold for less than $80, and given I shelled out $40 for the unpainted statue, well...

But yesterday I totally forgot to post this! I got the cover art for Blood and Fire! The photo of it is lousy, but it's too big for the scanner, so that will have to do. You can at least get the general idea.

Pretty bishy boy.

Doesn't Aidan look great? And Flame is just about perfect too! Hee!

Now I just need to get around to editing the book, and then getting a "real" editor to take a look through it, and then finding a suitable vanity press type place that's not too horrible of a ripoff. (Yes, I'm going to publish by vanity press. Why? Because the hoops, stress, revising, and years of waiting required to publish for profit is just not something I find worth it. I'd get paid a few thousand, an ammount I could make sewing with half the work required to really get a book into shape, and that's if I managed to get it published at all. Or I can pay a couple hundred and have a nice, shiny pile of books, just how I want them, to inflict on... er, to give to friends and family.)
