Uncertainty is driving me CRAZY. I want a Secret Keeper. MUST HAVE a Secret Keeper. If I knew that they were going to be put into regular production, I could just say "eh" and wait. If I KNEW that they were never going to be put into regular production, I'd know I have to get one at the higher prices. But I don't know. And I don't know what the announcement that they're never going to be regular production, if that happens, would do to the price. Drive it up, probably. But how badly? And would it stay that high, or drop again? Gah. And if I knew how much the next one on ebay would go for, I'd know if I could get it or not. But I don't! I have no idea even what color it is, and no idea who else is going to want it, or how much it will cost, and it's driving me up the WALL.

And I want my bishi doll. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaant him, and if I knew how much I'd spend on a Secret Keeper, and when, I'd know how soon I could get him, and I'd KNOW! But I have no idea! I almost want to say "heck with it" to the SK, and decide to get one some other day. But if I do that, and miss a chance to get one, I'll have to kill myself!

*flys apart in an explosion of obsessive collecting fandom uncertainty*

I'm doing it.

The Windstone factory is going to be NEXT DOOR to me by this time next year. If I can't weasel a Secret Keeper out of them in person at some point (and I know it can be done, it's been done!) when they're RIGHT THERE, I probably don't deserve to have one.

Lesson 1 - brushing long fur requires one to get dye all over one's hands, because the tips of the fur just blow around in the breeze from the brush, and won't hold still to get paint on them, so you have to hold cunks of fur in place as you go. My hands are VERY orange just now.

Lesson 2 - I should listen to Lance when he says something, because he was right about the double action being a pain when one is working on fur. I'll get used to it eventually, I'm sure, but I did a rather blotchy job. Happily rubbing it with solvent re-activates the stuff and lets me blend it about with a rag, so the blotches aren't evident. Well, except for where I was trying for a streaky look, which I think I kind of got. But anyhow, solvent is useful stuff, Which leads to...

Lesson 3 - dye solvent is alcohol based. One should NOT try and blow solvent through the brush to clean it, even if it does clean much, much better than water does. You could get high, or possibly drunk off of the aldohol fumes in here right now.

I'm sure there will be more lessons to come as I figure this thing out.

Aidan wants Boots Of Doom. This would be Darkangel, not Rhiannon. Rhiannon is rolling his eyes and saying that Darkangel isn't going to go clubbing, and in fact isn't going to go out of the house, so why does he need boots? The boots would, of course, actually get worn by my BJD, since he is going to "be" both Aidans, depending on costume.

Since I loooooooooooooove my Boots Of Doom, I rather like the idea of getting something similar for the doll. But, of course, I can't find any! Perusal of eaby, google, and three forums, as well as numerous doll websites reveal very few boots sized for the size of doll I'm getting, and none that are really anything like Boots Of Doom. Not that I was expecting exact replicas, but I was hoping for something with buckles, at least! But no, just laces, or weird looking grommeted straps. No buckles. I'm making inquiries into getting some custom made, but as I started asking around just this afternoon, I've gotten no responses back as yet. I am impatient! I want boots! (Any of you guys know where I can get boots sized to fit a 9cm foot?)
