Today I pretty much finished Renkairu's fursuit. At long last! This one definitely crossed over into that realm where I just want it over, done with, gone, and to never come back again. Most of my full suits get to that point, really.

Anyhow, I wait for glue to dry, and then I sew the tail on, and then it's done. I can swipe JJ's camera, take photos, and ship it out. Hopefull it will all fit, and I'll not get it back ever again.

I spent the first part of the day polishing that off, and the rest of the day running fox tails through the assembly line process of cut out, cut tips, sew tips on, sew together, stuff, add tops. I do large batches of fox tails sometimes, in preparation for cons. As Further Confusion is looming on the horizion (just one fullsuit slot left before it, yeep!) I need to start getting ready. I'll probably run forty or fifty fox tails through the assembly line, and a dozen or so wolf tails. I already have enough felines, I think. I'll probably do a few random rabbits, deer, maybe one skunk, not sure what else... I want to take at least 100 tails there though! And I hope to sell pretty much all of them.

Doing huge batches of the same thing is a little boring, but it's not too bad, and given the profit I'll make at FC, definitely worth it.

I also cut and assembled bits for two skunk tails. I need to go over my tail commissions and make sure I haven't forgotten any of them....

Today is a chill and drippy day, but that just means I won't get overheated. I'm walking to downtown Eugene, about two miles away. I expect to cover the distance in a liesurely hour or so, because I don't want to exhaust myself. I haven't done any significant regular walking since I got back from my mission, and while the bit under a mile from Weber State to home that I used to walk never gave me any troubles, that was always one way, and this is more than twice that, and round trip. Though if I really get exhausted I can always catch a bus back. But I'd rather not do that.

Anyhow, I go to grab some munchies (must keep up my strength!) and then I'm off!

And when I return I shall have wonderful, wonderful art supplies, which shall swiftly be used, for today, today my kirins came!

(Suggestions for test paint colors are welcome. I have one brown-eyed kirin that I will be experimenting with, before doing the color scheme I actually want on a blue-eyed kirin. I'm thinking something in warm natural tones, at this point.)

The expedition was a success. The initial trip down took around 40 minutes, though the return took somewhat over an hour, but I was strolling slowly on the way back, and limping a bit towards the end. Sadly I am in terrible shape, and though my hips actually took the trip better than I'd feared, my left knee decided it did not approve of all this activity.

I worry about that a bit. If my lower joints get too bad, I won't be able to walk distances carrying weight, and doing so is the only way I can manage to get real exercise. Exercise for its own sake is just not something I can do. I need a primary goal that has exercise as a side effect. I plan to start walking more places and having JJ drive me less. But if I can't walk... I don't know what I'll do. But hopefully this was merely a complaint brought on by lack of muscle strength around the area, and will thus clear up as I walk more.

Glee!

When we visited Ashland as part of Boardiecon, I wandered into a neat little store full of knick-knacks of various sorts. Mostly high-end stuff, including some amazing wooden dragons. And a small selection of the usual crappy resin dragons you always see at knick-knack places, but no Windstones. I mentioned Windstones within the hearing of the owner, and he was mildly interested, so I gushed a bit at him about how wonderful they are.

When I got home, I sent the address of the place to the Windstone people, because why not, you know? It's the sort of store that would do well with Windstones, I think, and they didn't have any dealers in the area, so who knows?

I'd about forgotten about this, but today I heard back from Windstone. The store ordered! Which means that I, as the source of the referral, get a free dragon! Heeeeeeeeeeeee! They didn't say what exactly I had to chose from, so I sent them a selection of options I might like, large to small, special production to regular. We'll see what they let me get. Personally I'm actually hoping to get a Birman large flap cat, or a brown lap dragon, but I'd take pretty much anything and be pleased. Hee!
