Syd Barrett: Apples and Oranges

So I was commissioned a bit ago to make a Syd Barrett pony. For those of you who don't know, Syd was the original guitarist of Pink Floyd. The one who went more or less nuts, thus inspiring much of Floyd's future successful material, in fact. Quite a lot of their music may be about him, though the Shine On You Crazy Diamond songs from Wish You Were Here are the only ones explicitly dedicated to him, as far as I know.

Anyhow, trying to do Syd as a pony was a bit more of a challenge than doing Pink, but the commissioner said that it was meant as a gift for somebody who liked the song Apples and Oranges best of all the stuff Syd wrote for Floyd. Thus, the Syd Barrett: Apples and Oranges pony was born!

( In which it is revealed that I cannot style hair to save my life. )

Livejournal is at it again.

Loooks like I was VERY right to just let my paid account expire last week.* (*sigh* Extra icons, how I miss thee...)

Makes we wonder... what will we do if lj finally goes belly up? I hope every one of you reading this knows that my website is bladespark.com, easy to remember, really, so that if it does ever die, you don't have to lose touch.

*Although the original gift of paid time was hugely appreciated, I do not want anybody to buy me anything lj related. I'm boycotting them. As much as I can boycott them and still keep in touch with you folks that I care about, and with my customers.

Lj tells users its policy for what's okay and what isn't.

Said policy can be summed up as "we'll ban whatever we feel like banning, and your only warning will be trying to log in and finding your journal is gone."

If anybody else has bailed to insanejournal, I'm bladespark over there too.

Costume Con 2008

I just booked my room for Costume Con 2008. It's in SanJose, at the very same Doubletree that hosts Further Confusion every year.

I have myself and JJ in there, but there's room for two more, so if anybody's interested in rooming with me, drop me a line.

Traumatized snake

Anthony went to the vet today. He was poked and prodded, and although he stayed pretty mellow, by the end of it he was hyperventilating just a bit, and almost-but-not-quite balling up. (He doesn't seem inclined to ball, really.) The vet gave assored advice, managed to look at everything, and pronounced him healthy. She said that she didn't want to probe a snake that small though, so... still no word on actual gender. Oh well! Snake shall be named Anthony and called a he, and if he turns out to be a she, it's hardly the end of the world to own a female pet named Anthony.

He hid all day today after getting home, but has just now come out again and started exploring the cage some more. I bought a fuzzy for him today, and shall be feeding him tomorrow. Then we find out if I'm going to have issues with him! Feeding problems are the ones I hear the most about, after all.

WTF?

Screw it. Screw the whole dealing thing. I'll just GO, and not kill myself making things and selling things.
